  • Jornadas Difusión Madrid

    The 9th Difusión Training Days for Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language, organized in collaboration with PROLINTER (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), will take place at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid on the 2nd and 3rd March.

    The Instituto Cervantes is participating in these sessions, which have moved to a different location from other years, and FEDELE and SIELE are sponsoring them.

  • Cervantes UCM 2017

    The Instituto Cervantes and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid are collaborating once again on the 30th Cursos de Verano Complutense en El Escorial. The course will take place from the 10th to 12th of July at the San Lorenzo site at El Escorial. This year’s programme is entitled “Spanish throughout the world, a sustainable economic asset”.

    As the Instituto Cervantes itself indicates, “From a multi-faceted perspective, the course “Spanish throughout the world: a sustainable economic asset” is intended to provide key points for an effective management of learning and teaching of foreign languages. To reach this goal, thought will be given to the changes and challenges in language teaching and to the activity in relevant sectors – teaching, tourism, employment, education, technology and communication. Special attention will be paid to the spread of the Spanish language and the performance of institutions in this area will be analysed.”

    A series of very varied topics will be dealt with during the course, all of them related to the central theme of the programme: the changes which enable the growth of Spanish in different countries and the response of international companies and public and private educational institutions teaching Spanish to new global demands, a response which is conditioned by the training of professionals and the use of technology in language learning.

    The course is intended for both professionals and students involved in language teaching. The conference is based around two plenary sessions and a round-table discussion on each of the three days of the conference.

  • Con C de Cine

     

    We are pleased to present the project  C de Cine , a webpage for the learning and teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language using audiovisuals. Access is free and teachers and students of Spanish as a Foreign Language are able to contact each other through forums and social networks to exchange experiences of the didactic use of film and video in the classroom. One of the most visited sections of the page is the “List of Activities” where teaching guides are published based on short films and other audiovisual formats following the flipped classroom model.

    Spanish in a day, an audiovisual competition for students of Spanish throughout the world, has been launched on the page this April. It’s an adaptation for the Spanish as a Foreign Language classroom of other audiovisual projects like Ridley Scott’s Life in a day or Isabel Coixet’s Spain in a day which was produced by RTVE. The main aim of the competition is for students anywhere in the world to make a three to five minute video showing a normal day in their life.

    Participants must follow the guidelines and the communication contents of the curriculum of the Instituto Cervantes which correspond to their language level. The level will determine the main category they enter: A is for Action (A1-A2), B is for Bench (B1-B2) and C is for Cineclub (C1-C2). There is also a parallel section of the competition where special mentions will be given, I is for Intercultural for the student’s reflections on different cultures and P is for Production for teamwork.

    Prizes will be given by the sponsors of the competition who include the University of Salamanca and the University of Santiago de Compostela, IMSOL Granada and the publishers Difusión.  These range from teaching material for the fifteen finalists (three for each category) to eight grants for intensive Spanish courses in different Spanish cities this summer.

  • FEDELE

    For the last few months FEDELE has been preparing to take part in the Foro Internacional de Español 2.0, an event organised to offer support to all enterprises which have the Spanish language as their main asset.

    The conference will enable the different Spanish language sectors to make contact with each other with the idea of combining more purely business aspects with a programme of activities concerning specific areas,  which will include language tourism and language courses abroad.

    The Foro Internacional del Español 2.0 will provide spaces for various acts of promotion and information for both professionals and the general public.

    The programme of activities will take place at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid from the 23rd to the 26th April.  The activities organised by FEDELE will take place on the 25th.

    FEDELE would like to invite our readers to take part in this event bearing in mind there will be activities of great interest to our member schools: training workshops, conferences, meetings and networking with other key people who are active in the sector.
